If you recall, When the Migrator ran into the iceberg you got the buoy item.  I think this can answer the problem not being able to wear it any more.  In other words, it went missing about 5 months ago.

Club Penguin Rockhopper's quest map theories!

Hey everyone you might have noticed that the map you get after you finish the quest has a big spot that could possibly be missing.  Look!

 Here's the map...

There's the big hole in it. 

I was just thinking,  do you all remember the behind the scenes look at Club Penguin? Well there was a part were it said, [rockhopper island map]  I think if that piece weren't missing there might be an island that could possibly be Rockhopper Island!  But... maybe I'm wrong.
